Deadline To Apply For Coal Miner Certification Exams Is January 29

Price – The deadline is approaching for coal miners working in mines in Utah to apply to take certification exams.

The Utah Labor Commission’s Coal Miner Certification Office in Price says the deadline to apply for testing is Monday, January 29.

Apply online at webaccess.laborcommission.utah.gov/minecertification.

Certification tests will be offered in the following areas:

  • Underground electrician
  • Surface electrician
  • Underground fire boss
  • Underground mine foreman
  • Surface mine foreman

The exams will be administered on Friday, February 16, at the Carbon County Events Center, 450 S. Fairgrounds Way, Price.
