Salt Lake City – A new director has been appointed to manage the Utah Labor Commission’s budget and day-to-day finances.
Phu Le was named by Commissioner Jaceson Maughan to head the commission’s Administrative Services Division.
“I am very excited to take on the opportunity and challenges with the new job at the Labor Commission,” said Mr. Le.
Mr. Le came to the Utah Labor Commission from Salt Lake County government where he was the administrative and fiscal manager for its Information Services Division where he helped develop a new billing model for IT services.
Before that, he was fiscal manager for Tulare County in California and worked for a technology company in Southern California.
Mr. Le came to the United States from Vietnam as a child with his family in 1979 and settled in Utah. He is a economics graduate of the University of Utah.
The Utah Labor Commission is a state agency that works to achieve safety for employers and employees in the state’s workplaces and ensure fairness in employment and housing through services that include consultation, education, inspections, compliance, and mediation.
