Coal Miner Certification

Mission

Our mission is to maximize boiler, elevator and coal mine safety, and provide for effective coal mine accident response.

The State of Utah is responsible for the certification of coal miners working in the coal mining industry within our state. We administer five different certification tests: Underground Electrician, Surface Electrician, Fire Boss, Underground Mine Foreman and Surface Foreman.

We have study guides available online for all five tests listed above. You can download them at no charge by clicking on the link below.
