Compliance
The primary responsiblity of UOSH Compliance is to carry out the mandate given to the Utah Laobr Commission in the Utah Code, namely, "to assure so far as possible every working man and woman in the State of Utah safe and healthful working conditions..." To accomplish this, the Utah Occupational Safety and Health Division (UOSH) employs a wide variety of programs and initiative, one of which is enforcement of standards through the conducting of effective inspections to detemine whether employers are:
(1) Furishing places of employment free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to their employees, and
(2) Complying with safety and health standards and regulations.
Through inspections and other employee/employer contact, UOSH Compliance can help ensure that hazards are identified and abated to protect workers.
